What the heck...

Okay, so my mom got hecka mad at me last night.  I know that no one reads this blog, but I wish a bunch of people did so that my mom could read their responses and realize that she is being silly, and has absolutely no reason to be mad at me.
So, about six months ago, Beth and I began to plan to run a 5k race together... We have been sooooo excited about it.  Beth has been training like crazy.  Yesterday, she texted me and was all excited because she had just picked up my race packet.  I am really excited to do this thing!  Yeah, I don't like running, but I have ALWAYS wanted to do a 5k.  I don't know why... I do though.  So I am so excited that I have the opportunity.  The date of the only 5k that we found was April 9th.  That was perfect because it was far enough in advance that if anything came up, we would be able to schedule around the race.  Beth already paid for me.  She didn't tell me that it cost any money, she just paid for me because she cares about me and is super nice.
My coach told us this semester that we were going to be playing in a 7 vs 7 tournament.  He finally found out the date like three days ago.  It is also on April 9th.  I went and talked to him about it yesterday.  He was totally okay with me missing the first 45 minute game.  That is right, they are not even real games.  We have 15 girls that are all going to play in this 7 vs 7 tournament.  That is WAY to many.  In this tournament we have four games.  It is a really laid back tournament, it doesn't count for anything, it is pretty much equal to a pick up game.  I don't even think that anyone is wearing real uniforms.  AND I play about four hours of soccer a day.  That is so much more soccer than anyone else I know plays.  I love soccer.  I have priorities, soccer is one of them.  But I am mature enough to realize that some things are more important.  And I can choose what things that I want to do in my life.  My mom may not understand, but the 5k is important to me.
My mom is mad that I am being "flaky" toward my team.  But I am not.  I will be at 3 out of the 4 games.  Everyone already knows that and they are totally fine with it.  Everything is already worked out perfectly.  My mom is the ONLY person in the world that is freaking out about it.  I wish that she could see that its not as big of a deal as she is making it out to be. I used to be like her, I thought soccer was the ONLY thing that mattered.  But I have grown up.  Soccer is one of the most important things EVER.  I love it sooo much.  But it is not the only important thing.  Even if the race seems silly to my mom, she should be able to understand, and not get mad.

Ten Reasons:
1) Beth and I planned this first
2) Coach is okay with me missing (pretty much would rather have me not be there so he can let all the girls have more playing time, and so he has one less girl to worry about.)
3) All the girls understand and are excited about my race and want me to have fun.
4) I love soccer and play EVERYDAY.
5) This tournament is just a silly one, they are just pick up games.
6) I am GOING to the tournament still.  I'm not skipping the whole thing.
7) It is not even going to be a real 90 min game.
8) I am really excited about the 5k.
9) Beth paid for me already.
10) Everything is already planned out.  It will make everything worse if I try to change it to the way my mom wants it.

GO BLUES!

The PMHS soccer team that I assistant coach for has a mascot that is called "The Blues"...   Ahaha I love these kids.  Yesterday, coach butler called me and said "Melanee, I wont be able to make it to practice tomorrow.  Will you run it for me?"  I said "Of course!"  Ahhh I was so nervous!  Lol I was in charge of running a two hour practice for 40 high school students all by myself!!!!!!!!!!  Whoa!  Talk about crazy!  It went really well though!  We did some dribbling drills and some fun sprints and touches and passing and a bunch of stuff!  Ahaha it was awesome!!!  I love those kids so much!  I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to help out with their teams!  It's the best!

Ouch

Ahaha so last night I was laying on my bed doing stuff on my comp, and tamara walked in and was all "dang mel, your legs are messed up!!!"  Ahaha it is so true.  My legs have bruises and cuts all over them.  It's crazy.  My new hobby of bike riding is kinda dangerous.  Lol especially when I keep trying to do tricks and stuff.  ahaha It is soooo fun though.  Also I am the coach of the Parry McCluer High School boys and girls soccer teams,  I LOVEEEEE IT sooooooo much!  Those kids are so incredible!!!!!  So amazing.  I love them.  The only thing is, for most of them, its the first time they have ever touched a soccerball.... ahaha so I have been getting a lot of bruises on my legs from playing soccer with them.  Lol I dont mind though.  I love soccer, biking riding, and those kids!!!!!!

What else is there... hmm how do I put a playlist on this blog?  I want to figure out all this crazy blogging stuff.
Oh, I am going on a date tomorrow night with Jeremy Smith lol.  I don't think it really counts as a date but still ahaha it will be fun!
I should definitely be going to sleep right now... well goodbye!  Keep up the good work!

Valentine's Day

Well yesterday was the sometimes beloved and sometimes dreaded holiday, Valentines day. For all us single folks... it is a brilliant reminder of how single we really are. Which I don't think that it is such a big deal.. being single and all... in fact I love it. But instead of trying to convince you that I do appreciate this time of solitude in my life I will tell you about a far more than decent day.
Waking up late on a most glorious day where the sun is shining and you can actually feel its warmth [surprisingly enough when the sun shines on the east coast normally there is no heat associated with it... east coast sun is not real. It is just a pigment of your imagination. This is of course my opinion.], having to throw on some 3/4 length sweats and a tie-dye shirt [which I have been neglecting this year sadly... have no fear, when I find the time I will produce works of art for your benefit] and rushing out the door. Fortunately a kind lad proved me wrong in saying that cars can in fact turn in the opposite direction and he nice enough to give me a ride up to class... what a humble person. Since it was such a nice day, I was able to coax both my teachers into letting part, if not all of class be held outside. I felt the rays of the sun today which of course helped my Vitamin D levels to sore through my cranium and enabled me to beam like the sun. I couldn't help but smile all day long and someone even commented on the fact that I indeed looked chipper. Yes, a good day.
I had time to watch two of my favorite shows in between classes, and watching people biff it while attempting to win large sums of cash [Wipeout] and crazy amounts of awkward feelings and sarcastic humor in a professional setting [The Office] do bring so much joy to me.
If that is not enough to prove to you that I had a great day... I will continue. After classes Litsy and I walked home while she continued to literally throw valentine after valentine after valentine at me, showing me how much she really does care for me.. what a friend. Then we wrote valentines for random strangers and placed them in mail boxes and under doors [they actually were friends... not strangers].
I received a wonderful surprise from my family in the mail. A box of See's Candy. Apparently not all of you know what this delicacy is... so you will not understand the effects that a butterscotch square can have in your life, but as for me and myself, I will enjoy them all.
I went to work after this on an epic adventure nonetheless... for that is what my life truly is. My work boyfriend asked me to be his work valentine and although I thought it was nothing serious he brought me flowers and candy. What a sweetheart. Also, another great friend of mine made some 'better than work' cake and shared with me... although this happened after work. An SVU football coach brought in flowers for the lovely ladies that worked at RT's. I felt so spoiled...
To ice the cake my friend whom I previously mentioned bought me a some delicious RT Italian Cream Cake because I had a horrible tip % due to the lame effects that love do to one's tip %. He is such a great friend. Truly...
After I got home I found out that one of my housemates made this amazing chocolate chocolate cake with m&m's and chocolate bunnies on it. I think I will die due to cake overload... But that would only be a happy death.
My great friend then attempted to serenade me with a song about chemical equilibrium or something written to Zac Effron's 'Bet On It' song... [he really didn't try to serenade me...]
To end a pretty wicked day, my lovely co scribe and I talked about boys and such.

GREAT day.
Stay Classy <3
